Beauty in the Beast

How many bad days have you had this week? How many good days have you had? One more question. How many times were you able to stop and see the beauty within? Often times we get so caught up in the mess that we don’t recognize the beauty in the mess. And I’m guilty of being that person. BIG TIME!
One morning I was making a latte at home and trying to make a video for my business, but my phone wasn’t cooperating. And all my content creators and business owners know the frustration behind your camera not working. Well, it almost ruined my morning for sure.
My morning is pretty consistent with three must-dos which is coffee, bible study, and journaling (my quiet time). After the camera fiasco, I did not want to do anything except sulk in my bad moment. I briefly put off doing my bible reading and journaling out of frustration, but the coffee survived. Yes, the coffee. Who would’ve thought an oat milk honey latte and a whisper from God would change my day. Despite the camera issues, I still made my cup of coffee. I STILL MADE MY CUP OF COFFEE! And I almost missed the beauty in the beast. It almost made me miss out on an important reminder from God to “Be Still”.
We get so caught up in the negative that we prevent ourselves from being present in the moment. It makes us uneasy, nervous, and stuck on what didn’t happen that we ignore what did happen. Sometimes it’s important for us to just stop, see the beauty, and reflect. Don’t let what’s beautiful become distorted by seeing life through a filtered lens. Don’t focus on the negative, don’t worry about it. Instead be still, trust God and know he will always be present for you. So drink your coffee, journal your thoughts and feelings, and let your mind wonder on the beauty.
Tell me what was the beauty in your beast today?
